Three nutrients, different roles
Macronutrients are protein, carbohydrates, and fat. All three have useful roles, and foods often contain more than one. A percentage split is only one way to look at food; variety, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and your overall routine matter too.
Helps maintain and repair body tissues. Eggs, dairy, fish, poultry, beans, and soy foods are possible sources.
FDA: ProteinSupply energy. Fruit, whole grains, and legumes can also contribute fiber and other nutrients.
FDA: CarbohydratesProvides energy, contributes to cell membranes, and helps absorb certain vitamins. Foods such as olive oil, nuts, seeds, and avocado contribute fat.
FDA: FatThis tool uses general factors of 4 calories per gram for protein and carbohydrates, and 9 for fat. First divide a nutrient's percentage by 100. Multiply the calories you enter by that fraction, then divide by its calorie-per-gram factor.
Example: At 2,000 calories and 25% protein, the protein share is 500 calories. Dividing 500 by 4 gives 125g. The example's 50% carbohydrates gives 250g, and 25% fat gives about 55.6g.
This is arithmetic for the selected example, not a recommendation for your energy needs or percentage split.

Put the breakdown into everyday meals
A meal plan with macros still needs to work with your appetite, preferences, and daily life. You do not have to track macros to build a useful nutrition routine.
The existing Meal Plan Builder helps you explore meal preferences and practical prepared-meal support. It does not automatically prescribe individualized macro targets or receive the values you enter here.

A few useful answers
Macros is short for macronutrients: protein, carbohydrates, and fat. They provide energy and have different roles in nutrition. Foods often contain a combination of all three.
First divide each percentage by 100. Multiply your entered calorie goal by that fraction, then divide by 4 for protein, 4 for carbohydrates, or 9 for fat. This calculator keeps full precision during the calculation and rounds the displayed grams to at most one decimal place.
No. It only converts an existing calorie goal and the percentages you enter into grams. It does not use body measurements, estimate energy requirements, or recommend a calorie goal or percentage split. The initial values are an example only.
You can compare the calculated quantities with actual food portions and nutrition labels while considering variety and balance. The existing Meal Plan Builder helps you explore preferences and prepared-meal support; it does not prescribe macro targets. Tracking macros is optional, and matching numbers does not guarantee a health, weight-loss, or muscle-gain result.
